Houston Bionics

Progress is a story to share.

Meet Houston Bionics – a US-based neurorehabilitation brand that provides at-home systems for stroke patients. Houston Bionics develops exoskeletal systems that promote high repetition therapy to activate neuroplasticity and creates social platforms to form communities and empower patients. In order to brand the provider of such clinical systems, we needed to imbue the brand with a genuine motivational story while making sure the brand’s high clinical capabilities remained visible.

To identify the core message at the heart of our brand, we examined the experience of stroke rehabilitation. Daily, high repetition tasks to enable mobility. Our focus became to maintain high motivation through this demanding, repetitive journey. We shifted the emotional focus from recovery to regaining independence – because acquiring each new skill with a stroke-impaired extremity is a new step to a more independent life.

Neuroplasticity is the capacity of our nervous system to rewire itself to relearn a task. Our branding visualizes the concept of neuroplasticity, with nodes that connect in many different combinations. This visual coding became the founding idea for the brand logo and got reflected across our entire visual assets. It was important for the brand to not only feel warm and approachable, but also to evoke the confidence a patient would rightfully demand from a health tech provider. Scientific in nature and friendly in character, Houston Bionics adds the necessary human-touch to the rehabilitation process.

Regain your independence, with Houston Bionics.
